Harnett County, NC – Alliance Health, Daymark Recovery Services, Good Hope Hospital Inc., and Harnett County Government are collaborating to enhance healthcare in Harnett County by launching expanded mental health services aligned with national models and trends. The partnership aims to improve on demand access to behavioral health care, strengthen existing services, and improve the health and wellbeing of Harnett County citizens.
Daymark Recovery Services will assume operations of the Good Hope Hospital psychiatric unit on January 1, 2025, marking a pivotal step in this partnership. Additionally, Daymark will open Harnett County’s first Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) – a 24/7/365 walk-in, crisis-focused service – between January and March 2025. BHUCs provide rapid assessment of a person’s situation, medical screening and care, and referrals for follow-up services, and are proven to reduce unnecessary trips to the emergency room, hospitalizations and incarcerations. Both services will operate on the Good Hope Hospital campus, collaborating with the Good Hope board to meet the behavioral health needs of the Harnett County community. Alliance, Good Hope and Harnett County are providing financial support to Daymark.

SALISBURY — The Rowan County United Way is nearly finished with a passion project of theirs. Since 2019, the RCUW has been steadfast in establishing a behavioral health urgent care for those in who require treatment for substance abuse or if they are mentally struggling.
Last week we "cut the ribbon" to officially open the new Behavioral Health Urgent Care facility in Rockingham County, and this week we welcomed our first clients to the facility.
We are thrilled to serve the community of Rockingham County with this new service, which allows those experiencing a mental or behavioral health crisis an alternative option in their time of need.
Daymark CEO, Billy West, explained "Without the vision of the Rockingham County Commissioners, hard work of the Rockingham County Managers Office and Rockingham County Legislators we would not have the vision nor funding for a BHUC." He added "Without the support of Vaya Health, we would not have the continued support to sustain services like these."
A day mark symbolizes the often bright and, more importantly recognizable markings painted on lighthouses up and down the Atlantic and Pacific seaboards. As history states, sailors relied on these welcoming day marks during the daylight hours as a necessary tool to orient themselves to their exact location while traveling for sometimes days, weeks, or even months at a time. Waking in the early morning to the sight of a bright day mark in the distance reassured many they were often on the right track on their voyage.
